Description

A cozy apple bread recipe combining sweetness of apples with cinnamon and butter, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs and buttermilk, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are fine!
  5. Gently fold in the diced apples and walnuts if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
