Ingredients

  • 1 apple, diced (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)

  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or coconut oil for a dairy-free version)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water or milk to a boil.
  2. Add rolled oats and a pinch of salt, reduce heat to low.
  3. In a separate skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add diced apples and cinnamon, and sauté until apples are tender (about 5 minutes).
  5. Stir the apple mixture into the oats along with brown sugar if desired.
  6. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring frequently, until it reaches your desired creaminess.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
