Description

A decadent dish featuring seared scallops in a creamy, spiced sauce that embodies Southern comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sea scallops
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat until melted. Add the scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and add paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to taste. Bring to a gentle simmer and let the sauce thicken slightly.
  5. Stir in lemon juice and return the seared scallops to the skillet, coating them in the creamy sauce.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

To achieve the perfect sear, ensure the scallops are well-dried before cooking, and don’t overcrowd the pan.
