Description
A decadent dish featuring seared scallops in a creamy, spiced sauce that embodies Southern comfort.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound sea scallops
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat butter over medium-high heat until melted. Add the scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and add paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper to taste. Bring to a gentle simmer and let the sauce thicken slightly.
- Stir in lemon juice and return the seared scallops to the skillet, coating them in the creamy sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
Notes
To achieve the perfect sear, ensure the scallops are well-dried before cooking, and don’t overcrowd the pan.
