  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce, room temperature

  • 23 tablespoons heavy cream (optional, for consistency)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy (about 1–2 minutes on medium speed).
  2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed until combined, then increase speed briefly until smooth. Scrape down the bowl as needed.
  3. Add the caramel sauce and salt, then mix on medium speed until smooth and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  4. If the frosting is too thick, add heavy cream a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Use immediately to frost cupcakes, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Notes

For smoother texture, warm the caramel slightly and whisk before adding. If your powdered sugar is clumpy, sift it to avoid lumps.
