Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz (226 g) dark chocolate (for coating)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine water and butter; bring to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat, stir in flour until smooth.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Drop tablespoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden and puffed.
  7. Allow to cool.
  8. Whip cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  9. Fill cooled choux buns with whipped cream.
  10. Melt chocolate and stir in oil.
  11. Dip filled profiteroles into chocolate and place on a serving plate.
  12. Chill before serving.
