Description

A quick and easy chocolate pudding that delivers pure chocolate comfort with a silky texture, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 3/4 cups whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt until no lumps remain.
  2. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of milk to form a thick paste, then add remaining milk until smooth.
  3. Place over medium heat and cook, whisking constantly, until thickened and just starting to bubble (8-10 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in butter and vanilla until glossy.
  5. Optional: Strain through a fine-mesh sieve for extra silkiness.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours until set.
  7. Spoon into serving bowls and top as desired.

Notes

Use good-quality cocoa powder, and feel free to adjust sugar to taste after cooking. This pudding can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator.
