Description
A hearty, comforting casserole featuring beef, cheese, corn, and crispy tater tots.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (85% lean recommended)
- 1 can (15 oz) corn, drained
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
- 1 bag (32 oz) frozen tater tots
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk (whole or 2% recommended)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces. Drain excess fat.
- Add the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the beef. Stir until well combined and warmed through.
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. Spread the beef mixture evenly in the dish.
- Evenly layer the drained corn over the beef mixture.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the corn.
- Arrange the tater tots in a single layer on top of the cheese, covering the dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and the casserole is bubbly at the edges.
- Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving to allow it to set slightly for cleaner slices.
Notes
For extra crispiness, broil the casserole for 1–2 minutes while watching closely. If using different meats or cheese, adjust cooking times as needed.
