  • C. Celery, chopped
  • C. Green onions, chopped
  • 1 ½ C. Heavy whipping cream
  • 2 C. Whole milk
  • 3 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Tomato paste
  • 8 oz. Cooked shrimp, cut into pieces
  • 8 oz. Crab meat
  • 1 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon juice (for an extra tang)
  • Chopped herbs (like dill or basil)

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped celery and green onions to the saucepan, and sauté until they begin to soften (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Stir in the flour and sauté for another minute, allowing it to cook slightly.
  4. Heat the milk in the microwave until warm and whisk into the saucepan until all lumps disappear.
  5. Mix in the heavy whipping cream, tomato paste, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper to taste.
  6. Bring to a low simmer, stirring frequently until the bisque thickens (approximately 10-15 minutes).
  7. Gently fold in the shrimp and crab meat, cooking until heated through.
  8. Serve topped with fresh parsley for a touch of color and freshness.

Notes

To enhance flavors, consider adding a splash of sherry or wine during the simmering process. The bisque can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
