A comforting and silky creamy garlic sauce clings to golden seared chicken breasts, perfect for weeknight dinners or small gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides. If breasts are uneven, gently pound them to an even thickness (about ½–¾ inch) for even cooking.
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until the butter has melted and the pan is hot but not smoking.
  3. Add the chicken breasts to the skillet. Cook for 5–7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 74°C). Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium-low and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine and scrape up any browned bits from the bottom. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Allow sauce to thicken slightly for 1–2 minutes, then adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper as needed.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over each piece. Let simmer for 2–3 minutes to warm through.
  8. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
