Description
Cherry pie bites are delightful, portable twists on the classic dessert, filled with luscious cherry filling and encased in a tender, flaky crust.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup cherry pie filling
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon sugar (for sprinkling)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Flour (for rolling out)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the pie crusts on a floured surface until slightly thinner, then cut into small circles about 3 inches in diameter.
- Place about a teaspoon of cherry pie filling in the center of each circle, being careful not to overfill.
- Fold the dough over the filling to create a pocket, crimping the edges tightly with a fork.
- Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the top of each pie bite. Sprinkle with sugar.
- Arrange on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, enjoy warm for the best experience!
Notes
Ensure the filling is not too watery to prevent a soggy crust. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream for extra indulgence.
