Description
A comforting skillet-stirred bowl of tender beef and egg noodles, coated in a savory sauce with garlic and Worcestershire.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups egg noodles (dry, not cooked)
- 1 pound ground beef (lean)
- 1 medium onion, cut up
- 2–3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef stock (low sodium recommended)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil, lightly salt it. Add the egg noodles and cook until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over high heat, cook the ground beef and onion, breaking the meat apart until browned and the onion is translucent (about 8-10 minutes).
- Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture, stirring and cooking for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually pour in the beef stock while stirring. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens, adjusting with more stock if necessary.
- Toss in the drained noodles, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Heat through for 1-2 minutes and serve hot.
Notes
Browning the beef well enhances the flavor. Adjust seasoning to taste after combining the noodles.
