Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups egg noodles (dry, not cooked)
  • 1 pound ground beef (lean)
  • 1 medium onion, cut up
  • 23 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef stock (low sodium recommended)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, lightly salt it. Add the egg noodles and cook until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over high heat, cook the ground beef and onion, breaking the meat apart until browned and the onion is translucent (about 8-10 minutes).
  3. Reduce heat to medium. Stir in the minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning, cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture, stirring and cooking for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Gradually pour in the beef stock while stirring. Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens, adjusting with more stock if necessary.
  6. Toss in the drained noodles, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Heat through for 1-2 minutes and serve hot.

Notes

Browning the beef well enhances the flavor. Adjust seasoning to taste after combining the noodles.
