Description

A cozy chocolate quick bread with peanut butter chips, perfect for breakfasts and desserts.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups (180 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup (about 28 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (packed, ~220 g) brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup (113 g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup (180 g) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (about 168 g) peanut butter chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a standard 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda.
  3. In a separate large bowl, whisk the melted butter, eggs, sour cream, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the peanut butter chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan, filling about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 50 minutes for a large loaf, starting to check with a toothpick for doneness.
  8. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the loaf tender. For a more chocolate-forward flavor, add semi-sweet chocolate chips.
