Description
Delightful cookies infused with orange juice that are simple to make and perfect for holiday celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and orange juice, mixing well until thoroughly combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep your cookies tender.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a greased baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may look slightly undercooked but will firm up as they cool.
- Allow the cookies to cool on a wire rack before dusting with powdered sugar, if desired.
Notes
Use fresh orange juice for the best flavor; consider chilling the dough if it’s too sticky.
