Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt; create a well in the center to pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Stir until a dough forms; knead on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and spread it onto a greased baking sheet; use your fingers to poke dimples in the surface.
  7. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle your toppings generously.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and fragrant.
