Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to blend the melted butter and sugar for about 1 minute until light and airy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Incorporate the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Gently fold in the sour cream, ensuring not to overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared dish and sprinkle the top with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar for a lovely sweet crust.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center.
