Description

Delicious fried mac and cheese bites with a crispy exterior and gooey, cheesy interior, perfect for gatherings or a comforting snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups cooked macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni and shredded cheddar cheese until well mixed.
  2. Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  3. Set up a breading station: place flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs in a third.
  4. Roll each macaroni ball in the flour, dip it in the eggs, and then coat it thoroughly with breadcrumbs.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the mac and cheese bites for about 3-4 minutes per side until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  7. Remove the bites from the oil and drain them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve warm, enjoying the contrast between the crunchy exterior and gooey interior.

Notes

For best texture, ensure the macaroni is fully cooled before mixing with cheese. Fry in batches to avoid crowding the pan.
