Delicious fudgy brownies infused with coffee, topped with a silky coffee buttercream for an indulgent treat.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 stick unsalted butter (113g)
  • 2 teaspoons coffee extract (or 1 tablespoon instant coffee)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 24 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter (76g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then transfer to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the melted butter and stir until blended.
  4. Gradually add flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder, mixing until smooth.
  5. Spread the batter evenly in the baking dish and bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow brownies to cool completely.
  7. Dissolve instant coffee granules in 2-4 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and set aside.
  8. In a separate bowl, beat unsalted butter until light and fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar and mix well.
  9. Slowly add the coffee-infused cream until reaching desired frosting consistency.
  10. Spread frosting over cooled brownies, slice, and serve.

Notes

For variations, consider adding chocolate chips or reducing sugar in the frosting for a less sweet option.
