- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 stick unsalted butter (113g)
- 2 teaspoons coffee extract (or 1 tablespoon instant coffee)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2–4 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- 1 1/2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (76g)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare an 8-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or parchment paper.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to the melted butter and stir until blended.
- Gradually add flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder, mixing until smooth.
- Spread the batter evenly in the baking dish and bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow brownies to cool completely.
- Dissolve instant coffee granules in 2-4 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, beat unsalted butter until light and fluffy, then gradually add powdered sugar and mix well.
- Slowly add the coffee-infused cream until reaching desired frosting consistency.
- Spread frosting over cooled brownies, slice, and serve.
Notes
For variations, consider adding chocolate chips or reducing sugar in the frosting for a less sweet option.
