Description

Savory beef and melty cheddar wrapped in golden, flaky crescent dough, perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 or leaner)
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic (about 34 cloves)
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (about 112 g)
  • 1 package crescent roll dough (standard 8-count package, ~227 g)
  • Optional toppings: dill pickle slices, finely chopped onion, ketchup, mustard, or a drizzle of garlic butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30–45 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (about 6–8 minutes). Drain excess fat if desired.
  4. Roll out the crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles.
  5. Place a spoonful of beef mixture in the center of each dough piece and sprinkle with cheddar.
  6. Roll the dough around the filling, sealing edges, and place each rollup seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  7. Brush tops with melted butter and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

To reduce calories, try leaner ground beef or reduced-fat cheese. Best when served warm with optional condiments.
