Description
Savory beef and melty cheddar wrapped in golden, flaky crescent dough, perfect for weeknight dinners or potlucks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (80/20 or leaner)
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic (about 3–4 cloves)
- 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (about 112 g)
- 1 package crescent roll dough (standard 8-count package, ~227 g)
- Optional toppings: dill pickle slices, finely chopped onion, ketchup, mustard, or a drizzle of garlic butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the minced garlic for about 30–45 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned (about 6–8 minutes). Drain excess fat if desired.
- Roll out the crescent roll dough and separate into 8 triangles.
- Place a spoonful of beef mixture in the center of each dough piece and sprinkle with cheddar.
- Roll the dough around the filling, sealing edges, and place each rollup seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush tops with melted butter and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Notes
To reduce calories, try leaner ground beef or reduced-fat cheese. Best when served warm with optional condiments.
