Description

Succulent shrimp marinated in garlic, herbs, and lemon, grilled to perfection for a flavorful summer dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 teaspoons ground paprika
  • 2 tablespoons fresh minced garlic
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning (or to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 cup olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 2 pounds large shrimp (2125 per pound), peeled and deveined

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together paprika, garlic, Italian seasoning, lemon juice, olive oil, black pepper, basil, and brown sugar until thoroughly blended.
  2. Stir in the shrimp, ensuring they are evenly coated with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, turning once.
  3. Preheat an outdoor grill for medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grate and position it about 4 inches from the heat source.
  4. Remove shrimp from the marinade and drain excess; discard marinade.
  5. Place shrimp on the preheated grill and cook for 5 to 6 minutes, turning once, until they are opaque in the center. Serve immediately.

Notes

Be mindful not to overmix your marinade, and watch for the shrimp to turn a beautiful pink color for understanding doneness.
