- 1 tbsp turbinado sugar
- 1 tbsp grapefruit zest
- 1/2 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- Ice
- 3 ounces pomegranate juice
- 2 ounces grapefruit juice
- 6 ounces ginger beef broth (or low-sodium vegetable broth)
- 1 tbsp pomegranate arils
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
Instructions
- Prepare the sugared rim: In a shallow dish, combine turbinado sugar, grapefruit zest, and freshly grated nutmeg. Mix until evenly distributed.
- Rim the glass: Rub a grapefruit wedge around the rim of a highball glass, then press the rim into the sugar mixture.
- Add ice: Fill the glass three-quarters full with ice.
- Pour juices: Add pomegranate juice and grapefruit juice over the ice.
- Add broth: Top off with chilled ginger beef broth. Pour slowly to preserve the rim coating.
- Stir: Gently stir 1–2 times with a bar spoon to combine.
- Garnish: Sprinkle pomegranate arils on top and finish with a sprig of fresh rosemary tucked into the glass.
Notes
Use a low-sodium broth to reduce sodium content. Chill all liquid components beforehand for the best flavor.
