Description
A creamy, cheesy casserole filled with tender chicken and a crispy buttery topping, perfect for family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4½ cups chopped cooked chicken
- 4 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 (10.5 oz) can unsalted cream of chicken soup
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp dried onion powder
- 1 sleeve Ritz crackers (crushed)
- 5 Tbsp butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350ºF. Lightly spray a 9×9-inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped chicken, cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and cream of chicken soup. Mix until everything is well combined.
- Spread the chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers and melted butter. Mix well until the crackers are coated.
- Sprinkle the buttery cracker mixture generously over the chicken layer.
- Bake uncovered in your preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until everything is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the chicken mixture to keep it tender. Check for doneness by ensuring the center is hot and the topping is crisp.
