- 1 cup sugar, divided (½ cup for peaches, ½ cup for batter)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk (whole or 2% recommended)
- ½ cup butter, melted (about 113 g)
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon (optional; for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the peaches, ½ cup sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cornstarch. Pour this mixture into a greased baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix the flour, milk, melted butter, baking powder, salt, and remaining sugar until combined.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peaches.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
