Description

A comforting and delicious apple crisp made with just six simple ingredients, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples (about 6 medium apples)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Toss apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl and let sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and oats until combined. Cut in the cold, cubed butter until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbling. Tent with foil if browning too quickly.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

For a dairy-light version, swap half the butter with coconut oil. For gluten-free, use a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend and certified gluten-free oats.
