Description
A comforting bowl of potstickers in a fragrant broth, enhanced with ginger, garlic, and sesame oil. Perfect for cozy dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 to 15 frozen potstickers (pork, chicken, or vegetable)
- 4 cups chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (reduced-sodium if preferred)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons freshly grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 to 3 green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms (optional)
- 1/2 cup spinach or bok choy leaves (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Optional garnishes: chili oil, red pepper flakes, toasted sesame seeds, lime wedges
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté until aromatic, about 30 seconds.
- Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Add the frozen potstickers to the simmering broth and cook according to package instructions (typically 5 to 7 minutes).
- If using mushrooms or greens, add them during the last 2–3 minutes of cooking.
- Stir in the soy sauce and season with salt and black pepper; taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and optional chili oil or red pepper flakes.
Notes
Use low-sodium broth and soy sauce to control sodium levels. For crispier edges, pan-fry some potstickers separately and serve on top of the soup.
