  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes (optional)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until soft (about 3-4 minutes).
  4. Add ground beef and cook, stirring and breaking up the meat, until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. In a bowl, mix sour cream and half of the cheddar cheese.
  6. In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked noodles, then the beef mixture, and finally the sour cream mixture. Repeat layers with the remaining ingredients.
  7. Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is bubbly. Serve warm.

Notes

Avoid overmixing the layers to maintain a nice texture. Let it cool slightly before serving to allow the dish to set.
