- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 can of diced tomatoes (optional)
- Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until soft (about 3-4 minutes).
- Add ground beef and cook, stirring and breaking up the meat, until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a bowl, mix sour cream and half of the cheddar cheese.
- In a large baking dish, layer half of the cooked noodles, then the beef mixture, and finally the sour cream mixture. Repeat layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Top with the remaining cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and cheese is bubbly. Serve warm.
Notes
Avoid overmixing the layers to maintain a nice texture. Let it cool slightly before serving to allow the dish to set.
