Description

A cozy dish filled with creamy ricotta and spinach, baked in marinara sauce and topped with melted mozzarella.


Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup mozzarella, spinach, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Fill each pasta shell with the cheese and spinach mixture.
  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Arrange the stuffed shells in the baking dish and pour the remaining marinara sauce on top.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the shells.
  8. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and slightly golden.
  10. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce.
