Instructions
- Cut the angel food cake into bite-sized pieces, approximately 1-2 inches squares.
- In a bowl, combine the sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing well.
- Melt the butter in a microwave-safe dish.
- Dip each piece of the angel food cake into the melted butter, ensuring it’s thoroughly coated.
- Roll the buttered piece in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until covered.
- In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until hot (around 350°F/175°C).
- Fry the coated cake pieces in small batches until they turn golden brown, about 2 minutes on each side.
- Remove the churro bites and place them on paper towels to drain off excess oil.
- Drizzle with chocolate sauce before serving warm.
